Formulation & Application Specialist

Virtually unknown outside their specialized field, several hundred million people around the world enjoy their products every day in the food they eat – every day more than 500 million people consume products containing the company’s ingredients. One of the company’s market leading divisions is Human Nutrition which, due to an increasing demand for probiotic-based products, now needs one more qualified employee with good experience within formulation. The Formulation & Application Specialist will be part of the Innovation group responsible for research, development and application activities of probiotics primarily in solid dosage forms. They are responsible for the development of customer specific formulations, from an idea to a finished product on the market. During the running of these customer driven projects they work closely together with scientists in Development, specialists in Probiotics & Diseases in Research and the Commercial Department. The new Formulation & Application Specialist will work with several different formulations with a wide range of complexity.

Job profile:

·          Responsible for 1-3 formulation projects at a time

·          Formulate new products and improve existing formulations on primarily solid dosage forms containing probiotics

·          Work closely with Sales on developing customer specific formulations

·          Participate in customer meetings presenting company products – this is a very outgoing and commercial position

·          Support production and Commercial Development with know-how

·          Provide large support to documents such as Drug Master Files for registration purpose

·          Participate in and/or lead cross-organizational projects

·          Contact with contract manufacturer and other external collaborators

Candidate profile:

·          M.Sc.: pharmaceutical, science or equivalent.

·          Fluent in English and Danish

·          Preferably min. 2-3 years experience from formulation (e.g. as formulation scientist/-specialist)

·          Experience with probiotics is an advantage but not a must

·          Preferably experience with project management

·          Personal skills:

o        Strong personal drive; self motivating, energetic and outgoing

o        Team oriented and at the same time able to work independently

o        Adaptable to change and a busy working environment

o        Costumer oriented mind set

o        Takes responsibility and initiative

o        Good communication skills

o        Able to juggle many tasks
