Scientist - Probiotic Delivery Systems

One of the company’s market leading divisions is Human Nutrition which, due to an increasing demand for probiotic-based products, now needs one more qualified employee with good experience within formulation. The position will be part of a Project Team working on an exciting development project, which is of strategic importance for the company. Therefore there will be a great focus on the future progress of the project and the scientists involved will have the opportunity to influence the project and make a difference for the company with a challenging break through. The Project Team will be working on the development of encapsulation technologies that will be able to ensure a stabilized formulation of probiotic bacteria. The Project Team will work closely with customers, research institutions, providers of new technology, and suppliers of process equipment.

Job profile:

·          Part of projects aiming at developing and delivering competitive probiotic delivery systems Evaluate potential new techniques

·          Work on new formulations

·          Collaborate closely with Fermentation & Pilot in order to optimize the stability of probiotics and secure robust products

·          Close contact to production facilities

·          Assist in expanding the company’s network within the field of encapsulation/stabilization of probiotics

·          Interact with internal and external experts

·          Plan and co-ordinate trials in collaboration with external partners

·          Provide strategic input on current and future concepts regarding stabilization of probiotics

Candidate profile:

·          M.Sc.: pharmaceutical, biology, chemical engineering or equivalent.

·          Fluent in English

·          Solid experience with formulation

·          Several years of experience as a scientist

·          Experience with delivery systems and/or encapsulation technologies relating to probiotics or other health ingredients

·          Experience from pharma or food industry

·          Broad experience with trial planning and later reporting

·          Knowledge of microbiology and/or stabilisation is an advantage but not a must

·          Solid experience from the laboratory

·          Preferably experience with interaction with internal and external experts
